About Pack 228

About the Pack

Pack was started in 1958 and has been sponsored by Christ United Methodist for all of those years with different leaders up until 1987 when Dave Barker became the Cub-master then Committee chair. We are located in the South Hills area and have a  strong and vibrant Pack that is engaged in many exciting activities such as camping 4 times per year, hiking, BB-gun, archery, rocket launching, biking, pinewood derby, fishing, swimming, and a whole lot more! Helping your son build strong core values, build confidence, engage with new friends, and grow in their skills can be a very rewarding experience for both child and parent.

Unlike other activities available to children, Cub Scouting is a family activity. In order for your child’s Cub Scouting experience to be memorable, it will require help from you. Not everything will, or can be, done at a Cub Scout meeting.  Working with your child to achieve a goal, and then seeing that goal achieved is Cub Scouting at its most basic. The excitement and pride that you will see in your child’s eyes will prove that time spent with Scouting is “family time” well spent!
